Larkhall Plan Partnership (LPP) is launching its Community Survey results with 1,656 Larkhall residents sharing their views.
The survey ran between April and June 2025 and is based around five themes: our town, health and wellbeing, local services, our connectivity, and community.
The launch, held at Larkhall and District Volunteer Group on Wednesday 8 July, was attended by representatives from South Lanarkshire Council, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue, Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire, as well as Larkhall residents.
LPP chair, Nancy Barr, said: “We are excited to launch this report which provides data demonstrating that Larkhall is a thriving, vibrant town but is nonetheless facing challenges.
“The data shows the vast majority of people are happy with Larkhall as a place to live and this has increased in the past five years which is incredible. We think the work of charities and voluntary groups in the town, and the way we work together such as through the work of LPP to deliver the best outcomes for Larkhall residents, has contributed to this increase.
“We don’t shy away from the challenges and the survey shows areas where people are not satisfied with public services with many ratings getting worse since 2019. The action plan2 we have created outlines what steps can be taken to find solutions to the challenges and who is best placed to take this forward.
“The survey report is an important step for LPP. It will benefit our town by giving us the evidence we need to help convince funders and decision makers to invest and find solutions to the issues raised in the survey.
“Being able to make comparisons across age groups and with the data from the 2019 survey gives us a rich insight into challenges facing specific age groups and emerging trends in satisfaction levels with public services.
“We want to extend a huge thank you to all the Partners for helping promote the survey and deliver the launch event, to all our wider partners from further afield in South Lanarkshire, and of course to Larkhall residents who filled in the survey and came to the launch.”
The action plan developed from the survey translates community priorities into actionable objectives with clear responsibilities and Larkhall Plan Partnership identifies these as priorities we will focus on over the next five years. The action plan also lists the lead partners responsible for delivering the actions and what success will look like.
